DAY-21: Cruising the Pacific Ocean West of Chile

 Day – 21: Monday, March 9, 2020

Today we'll spend cruising the Pacific en-route to our next port, San Antonio, Chile. Sheila played bridge and I walked a few miles. For scheduled activities we attended two entertainment and enrichment functions; first it was about food, another cooking demo by the entertaining and informative chefs. Later we would attend another sports talk with Verne Lundquist.

Today's sports talk was as wide ranging as the career of Verne Lundquist. Today's subject was a comparison of the NCAA men's basketball "Final Four" and Winter Olympics figure skating. As I've mentioned, when it comes to broadcasting Verne's experiences stretch the bounds of sports, from local high school football to the Dallas Cowboys, NCAA football and basketball, the Olympics, in golf The Masters and let's not forget Bowling for Dollars.

We closed out the day with dinner in the Polo Grill.

DAY-19: Puerto Chacabuco - Sheila's Birthday Day – 19: Saturday, March 7, 2020 Starting Location:  At Sea Aboard the M.S. Marina Interim Location: Anchored at Puerto Chacabuco, Chile Ending Location:  At Sea Aboard the M.S. Marina When we awoke the ship was anchored off shore from Puerto Chacabuco, a small town that has no tourist industry or infrastructure. Fish Farm It does have water deep enough for cruise ships but some think we're here simply to avoid three "sea days" in a row. There are tours from here and we'll be on one. For starters, Ismial showed up with birthday croissants for Sheila in celebration of the big day Birthday # __ (one more than last year). DAY-05: Headed to Iguazu Falls Day – 05: Saturday, February 22, 2020 Starting Location:  Hotel Emperador, Buenos Aires, AR Ending Location:  Hotel Melia, Iguazu Falls, AR Today was to be an "in-country" travel day. After breakfast we checked out and payed our bar tab, a mere $115, not bad for a serious number of drinks and a lunch or two. About forty of us gathered in the hotel lobby for our trip to Iguazu Falls. We all left luggage at the hotel for our return on Sunday as we were to carry minimal baggage for the overnight stay. While waiting for transportation, we sat with  a French Canadian couple, fortunately they were fluent in English as our French was somewhat deficient.
